Why did Aaliyah and her crew board the plane when there was a bigger plane set to pick her up the next day? Aaliyah did not like flying especially in smaller planes. So why did she fly that day? There is a new book called Baby Girl: Better Known as Aaliyah by music journalist Kathy Iandoli (Atria Books), about Aaliyahs musical journey and collaboration with different R&B producers and artists and her last days.
Allegedly according to the book she was given sleeping pills and was carried onto the plane while heavily asleep. Will the book reveal the truth about Aliyahs death?
Aaliyah the R&B Princess
Aaliyah Dana Haughton was a R&B superstar in the 90’s. She sold millions of records worldwide. She made fame when she released “Back and Forth” her first single written by R. Kelly. There was a lot of rumors going around about Aaliyah being only 15 and dating the R & B star R. Kelly.
Aaliyah was signed with Jive records at the tender age of 12. She was soon introduced to R. Kelly in 1993. He was 26, Aaliyah was only 14. He became her producer and songwriter of her debut album: Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number. Obviously, R. Kelly knew why he named the Album “Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number” because he was messing with Aaliyah when she was under age.
Aaliyah or R. Kelly never confirmed the rumors of their relationship. The mini series documentary Surviving R. Kelly opened up new information about his and Aaliyahs marriage. One of R Kelly former backup dancer Jovante Cunningham said he actually saw R. Kelly and Aaliyah having sex on R. Kelly’s tour bus. Demetrius Smith another one of R. Kelly crew members said he helped Aaliyah forge paperwork on the marriage license to say she was 18.
The magazine Vibe revealed a marriage certificate that listed the couple married on August 31, 1994 in Rosemont, Illinois. Aaliyah, who was only 15 at the time was actually listed as 18 on the marriage certificate. The marriage was annulled in 1995 by Aaliyah’s parents. Fortunately, Aaliyah moved on with her dating life as she got older and dated celebrities like Damon Dash.
Sadly on August 25th, 2001, Aaliyah boarded a plan and never made it back home. The plane crashed and Aaliyah lost her life at only 22 with seven other members in her crew. This was such a devastating event for all of Aaliyahs fans across the world.
Aaliyah went to the Bahamas to shoot her music video for the Rock the Boat single. When the music video was finished Aaliyah and her crew boarded a small 10-seat twin-engine Cessna jet headed to Opa-Locka, Florida. Sadly, shortly after take off the jet began to fall from the sky only 200 feet away from the planes runway.
Several years after the airplane accident The National Transportation Safety Board started an investigation. Soon we would find out that the plane was overweighed with luggage and the pilot, Luis Morales III was not certified to fly the plane. He was also charged with a drug offense in the past which is why he had cocaine and alcohol in his system when the plane crashed based off his autopsy. Allegedly, Morales received probation for possession of crack cocaine just weeks before the flight.
Morales got his license by lying and showing fraudalent flights he had never did. The plane was also cited four times years before the cash including a safety violation.
Pilot Lewis Key confirmed there was too many people as well as excessive luggage on the aircraft. Key also said to the The New York Post that Morales had problems getting one of the engines to start. Also, Morales and Aaliyah’s crew members got into a bad because of the excessive luggage.
Was She Drugged On Purpose?
Jaguar Wright a music artist says that Aaliyah wanted to rush back home because Damon Dash got into a bad accident. Furthermore, a man named Kingsley Russell from the Abaco Islands was 13 at the time of the airplane tragedy. Kingsley was Aaliyah’s crews baggage boy. He worked in his families taxi and hospitality business.
His mom was Aaliyah’s driver during her time in the Bahamas. Kingsley Russell posted a video on YouTube that has now been deleted where he explained how he watched Aaliyah being carried on the plane asleep, and that she was knocked out cold by a pill that a member of her team had given her. Russell said “she didn’t even know she was getting boarded on a plan”, Russell said in the book Baby Girl: Better Known as Aaliyah.
Supposedly, the pilot Luis Morales did not want to fly the plane because of the overload of luggage and crew members but still flew the plane.
Hollywood The Evil Industry
Many celebrities especially music artist have died tragically in airplane crashes. Music artist like Ritchie Valens, Patsy Cline, Otis Redding, Buddy Holly, Jenni Rivera,“The Big Bopper” Richardson all lives were taken in plane crash. Is this some celebrities destiny for bing a star? Some celebrities like Chaka Khan say Hollywood is evil. There is also rumor that Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Damon Dash did a Illuminati blood sacrifice on Aaliyah. Some others say Aaliyah wanted to get out of Hollywood but they killed before she did.
Aaliyah’s last movie she did was The Queen of the Damned. It was released right after Aaliyahs untimely death. It is about the music industry having vampires running it and how they wanted to control the entire globe. Akasha who Aaliyah played was the Queen of the Damned. Akasha dies by another female vampire sucking all her blood. The vampire who killed Akasha then took her place as the new Queen of the Damned. Did someone take Aaliyah’s place in the music industry? Was it Beyonce?
We may never really know what happened on August 25th, 2001, but one thing is for sure we lost our R&B “Baby Girl” to a tragic accident that devastated the world. To say Aaliyah was drugged opens up another cans of worms, but their is only one person claiming this accusation. This is all just another sinister tragic death of a celebrity in Hollywood we may never know the truth about their mysterious deaths.
